Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Cliff Hucker, et. al....non Dead

Cliff, we got off on the wrong foot and I'd like to resolve the situation. I assure you that you are incorect in our assumption that I am "smi2les". You are correct in assuming that I have used different log-ins over a period of time.
I originally registered here with my Deadhook log in..."gtrclktr". 24 hours later, i was unable to access the forum, so I modified my log-in to "guitarcollector", and decided to leave the forum. I clearly stated both of these facts in post dated Jan 4 & 5, 2007.
I continued to lurk, and in April I decided to rejoin this forum. I chose to reregister as "user unknown". After several posts, I began to feel somewhat at home here. Dancin' knew that I was familiar with her, but wasn't sure who I was. I let her know off-forum(actually at Deadhook). She incouraged me to expand my participation here. That led me to toy with the idea of "revealing" my identity, and I briefly changed my login to "gtrclktr351". My own paranoia led me to reassume the "user unknown" handle. I will continue to use that handle for as long as I stay here.
Jump forward to 7/5/2007. There was a GROK that night and I decided to join. During that grok I made some smartass remarks that were directed at no one in particular, but raised the ire of you and dire. I tried to apologize to both of you, but you disappeared. Dire and I went on to have a very nice conversation that evening after the grok.
Now you know the whole sordid story. I never had any intention of causing conflict here. Here is the link to the "gtrclktr" search... http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=forumPost%3A1%20AND%20gtrclktr . I apologize for the length of this post.

Peace to this house and to all who assemble here.
"user unknown"
...............Bill

I stand here extending the hand of friendship. If you chose to rebuke me, I totally understand and hold no ill will. I only hope that my continued participation on this forum does contribute to the already excessively high tension level.

To those of you with whom I have grokked,"Thanks for making me feel welcome here."

To those of you who have come to my defense(Dancinbears, direwolf0701, SomeDarkHollow and JamminJerome), "Thanks for taking me at my word and giving me a chance to prove I am not here to cause trouble." It is people like you who make these boards a pleasant experience.

Peace to this house and to all who assemble here.

Bill

(If this gets double posted, please accept my apologies. The first "draft" didn't seem to make it on the board for some reason)

Hey Bill - No sweat. You do not need a welcome from me, cliff, bellski or anybody else....this is a public place.

I understand that I don't need a welcome. As I stated, I feel I got off on the wrong foot with Cliff and would like to resolve that situation. There are also others that view my presence with disdain, and I would like to rectify that if possible. I intend to continue my participation here, but would prefer that it be non-contentious.

i'm not sure who the others are man - you seem to be pretty welcome here other than my blasting you in the grok for the first few minutes (which we rectified) - and i think cliff will come around too.

you will fit in here just fine - probably more than some others - you know, like that weirdo person dancin? :-P

Oh--that other Bill. Dammit!

Why would anyone think he was anyone other than he is?

I can vouch for this guy, he posts (as gtrclktr) a lot on DeadHook. While I don't know him personally at all, he seems like a cool guy. Keep posting here and sharing your valuable information! It's unfortunate that you joined/started posting as userunknown at such a time of paranoia.

Hi Bill :)

where do I start? I guess I am a little in shock, and yes very much saddened at what the last few days have been like, and the response you have received from some people on forum and in GROK. It's funny... there's a thread a little below this one that has my name on it, that makes me feel like I am an important memeber of this forum, and someone whose opinion can be respected. And yet when I stated that you were a friend of mine, that I invited you to come GROk with us, and that I WAS CERTAIN that you were not smi2les, that was not enough.
I'm sorry for that. :(

we have known each other from deadhook now for well over a year. You know me well enough to know that I would not keep coming to forum, or keep grokking weekend after weekend if there weren't really kind, sincere, caring men behind the cute little screen names. I keep coming because there are genuine friends here. People that I honestly care about, and who honestly care about me. Those friends that matter will welcome you. :)

When I first arrived here I had to learn the hard way that the LMA wasn't deadhook, with a built in 'security system'. I was told to 'get a tougher skin'... to 'not let a few apples spoil the bunch'... to ignore. It's been about 8 months or so now since I first arrived, and I have to be honest with you.... while my posts now are mainly 'social'... I am so very glad I stayed and didn't give up. I hope you won't give up either. The dozen or more true friends that I have here, really could use another friend like you. and that's the honest truth!

All my love, Gina :)

Thanks Gina. You were the one that invited me back and I think I'm going to like being here. And we can all use some new friends once in a while!

I've actually got pretty tough skin. I can take a lot from other people. But when it is my mistake that causes trouble, I feel a real need to make amends. My original faux pas involved dire and Cliff. I've made my peace with dire. I will now enjoy his company here on the board, and in future groks. Cliff may not be so easy to reach. He doesn't seem to be quite as big a "mush" as dire.....kidding dire, just kidding.

The others that have reacted with negativity can either take me at my word and accept me "into the fold", or not. After all, as high flow said, "This is a public place."

and high flow thanks bother!

Hey Gina, this is beginning to remind me of my "brotherhood thread" at Deadhook. And, that's not a bad thing!

Man, this is just like the local playground.....when you first walk-up...the other kids look at you funny. Maybe you even scuffle w/ some of the more fearful kids.....but after a while, you become one of the familiar neighborhood faces.

I won't push you off the monkey-bars or hog the slide....let's play catch. AND, enough of us already have yer back, so you won't be "IT" whenever we play hide-and-seek!

All that said.....I think Dancin has cooties....I KNOW Dire does.....hehe!

Whatever unknown user, that ought to teach you about using multiple user names during a level IV conflict situation here at the forum...

I called Frank Blades PI and asked him to discontinue his investigation of you. He charges to much and hasn't produced any results anyway.

Glad the truth is finally out about Cliff being smi2les!

What is this Frank Blades character? Of all this weirdness surrounding our h2ro this is the one thing that actually makes me laugh. Frank is alright dangerous but alright. LOL

This is almost like a TV show Andy Kaufman would write. With Kaufman playing both roles of Sm2les and Frank Blades in the drama known as "As the Forum Turns".

Cliff...

No need for an investigator. If you have questions, just ask. I have nothing to hide.
